Malbork
The city of Malbork along the Nogat River is most famous for the castle that was built here by the Teutonic Knights in the early 13th century. Malbork Castle served as the capital of the Knights of the Teutonic Order, who from here conquered a country that reached from the Odra River in the west to the Narwa on the present border between Estonia and Russia. The impressive castle with the Palace of the Grand Master is a scene not to be missed when travelling through this part of Poland.
