Wolin National Park
Wolin National Park (Woliński Park
Narodowy) is located on the island of Wolin in the
northwestern part of Poland, not far from the popular beach resort
Miedzyzdroje.
The national park is most famous for its steep cliffs. At the
highest point the cliffs reach more than 60 meters above the shore.
An impressive view from the heights of the cliffs can be seen at
the at the viewing point of Góra Gasan, which can be reached after
a short walk from the main road.
Another main feature of the park is the wisent, a kind of bison,
that lives in its forests. A number of wisents, as well as other
wildlife like deer and wild pigs, can be seen in an enclosed
reserve.
Wolin National Park is a popular destination for hikers, who enjoy
walking through the oak and beech forest. Walking paths are well
marked and mostly also accessible for mountain bikers.
