Sightseeing in Szczecin
As the capital of the Pomeranian Duchy, Szczecin was already in the 15th century a powerful city. Witnesses of those times are the impressive St. James Cathedral and the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes. The historic Old Town close to the cathedral has in recent years been renovated and once again shows the impressive merchant houses of the prosperous traders from the Hanseatic city. Along the shores of the Odra River, large buildings of the National Museum and the regional government can be seen. Furthermore, spread around the city there are numerous other monuments from the versatile history of Szczecin. The city has set out a well marked route through the city that lets you see all attractions.
